PlayTour
In development

Your whole tournamenton your phone

The PlayTour app is being built for players: finding a tournament, entering, your playing schedule, your matches and a notification the moment something changes. One app for iPhone and Android, with the account you already have. It is not in the App Store or on Google Play yet and we are not naming a date; it ships when it is finished. Until then everything works on the website, including on your phone.

What the app looks like

Four screens from the app as it runs today, filled with a tournament being played right now.

Your home screen

What still needs doing is at the top: an entry waiting to be completed, a team that is not full yet. Under it are the tournaments coming up.

Your matches

Per match the group or the round, your opponent, the court and the time. The one being played now is at the top, with the score beside it.

Search

Every tournament on the platform, each card showing the sport, the town, the date and how long you have to enter.

Your profile

Your entries, your teams, your favourites and your notifications, plus the app’s own settings.

What the app does

Built for the person playing, not for the person running the match desk.

Find a tournament with your phone in your hand

Search by sport, town and period, or see what is on near you. Every tournament has its own page with the programme, the venue, the terms and the contact details of the sports club.

  • Filters for sport, town and date
  • Tournaments near you
  • Programme, venue and terms

Entering in four steps

Pick your categories, answer what the club asks and choose any extra options it offers. Teammates get an invitation link, a join code or a QR code to scan.

  • Categories, questions and any extra options
  • Invite by link, join code or QR
  • Paying online is coming soon

Your entries and your playing schedule

All your entries in one place, with their status and whatever is still outstanding. Once the schedule is out you see your own matches with the time and the court, next to the full order of play.

  • The status of every entry
  • Your own matches with time and court
  • The playing schedule, court by court

A notification the moment it changes

A push notification when the playing schedule moves, when a teammate confirms or when the organisers announce something. The app keeps a list of everything that has come in.

  • Push on your phone
  • An inbox of your notifications
  • Choose what you want to hear about

Standings and results

Follow the group table while matches are still being played. In a knockout you get the draw as a bracket with the results in it, so you can see who you might meet next.

  • Group standings per category
  • Knockout bracket with results
  • Updated during the tournament

Your own matches

A tab of its own for what you still have to play and what you have played, across every club and every tournament. With the opponent, the category, the round and the score.

  • Still to play and already played
  • Across every club
  • With opponent, category and result

And the rest

The smaller things you only miss when they are not there.

Your account and your settings

  • The same free account as on the website
  • Your profile details, entered once and used everywhere
  • Dutch and English
  • Light and dark, following the rest of your phone
  • Lock the app with your fingerprint or face
  • Choose what you get notified about
  • Change your password from inside the app

Around a tournament

  • Favourites, so you do not miss the next edition
  • The documents and the terms the club shares
  • The tournament photo and the venue on the map
  • The contact details of the organisers, one tap to call or email
  • Say when you cannot play, before the draw is made

What is not in it yet

  • The organiser side. Creating a tournament, drawing and scheduling happen on the website.
  • The app is being built for players first. That is a decision, not an oversight.

Everything above is built and tested. What is not finished is not listed here.

Questions about the app

When is the app out?+

We are not naming a date. The app is being built and tested, and it ships when it is finished. As soon as it does, you will read it on this page.

Does the app cost anything?+

No. The app comes with your free PlayTour account and there is no subscription. You pay the entry fee of a tournament, and PlayTour charges nothing on top of it.

Do I need a new account?+

No. You sign in with the account you use on the website. Your entries, your favourites and your history are there from the first screen.

iPhone or Android?+

Both. It is one app that runs on iPhone and on Android. You need iOS 16 or newer, or Android 8 or newer.

Can I use the app as an organiser?+

You can enter tournaments with it like anybody else. Creating your own tournament, drawing and scheduling happen on the website. The organiser side of the app comes later.

Does it work without internet?+

You need a connection. If you drop out of signal the app says so and what it already loaded stays readable. Entering needs a working connection.

Can I do everything without the app for now?+

Yes. Finding a tournament, entering, checking your playing schedule and following the standings all work on the website, including in the browser on your phone.

You can play in the meantime

Everything the app will do works on the website today. Find a tournament and enter; paying online is coming soon.
