Paying online (coming soon)

Paying online is coming soon. You will then pay the entry fee the club sets and nothing on top of it: PlayTour charges no transaction costs.

  • Only the club’s entry fee
  • You see the total before you confirm
  • The club receives the amount it published

A playing schedule of your own

The moment the draw is published you can see when you play, on which court and against whom. If anything moves you get an email and a notification on your phone.

  • Time, court and opponent
  • Told as soon as the schedule moves
  • Say in advance when you cannot play

Standings and results, live

Scores go in at the court, so you can follow your group and the rest of the draw while you are still at the venue. Afterwards the results stay in your history.

  • Standings that are right while you play
  • Your played matches kept
  • Every tournament you have entered

What it looks like when you take part

These are a player’s real screens, from a tournament being played right now.

Your overview

The match in progress, at the top

The moment you are playing it is up there: which court, against whom, and the score while it is still running. Under it are your entries and the tournaments you can still enter.

  • Your live match with the court, the opponent and the score
  • Every entry you hold, at any club, in one place
  • A notification when the playing schedule changes

From searching to your first match

Six steps. The first four take a few minutes; the rest happens around the playing day itself.

  1. 1

    Create a free account

An email address and a password, and that is it. No card details, no subscription, nothing that turns out to cost money later.

  2. 2

    Find your tournament

Filter by sport, town and date. The tournament page shows, per event, what the entry fee is, who the event is for and how long entries stay open.

  3. 3

    Add whoever is playing

Entering alone, you are done here. For a doubles pair or a team you send an invitation link or a join code, and your teammates confirm themselves.

  4. 4

    Finish your entry

You see the entry fee the club charges per event, and the total. Paying online is coming soon; until then you settle the entry fee with the organising club.

  5. 5

    Play

After the draw your playing schedule is there, with the time, the court and your opponent. During the day you follow the standings instead of waiting for a sheet on the wall.

  6. 6

    See your result

Afterwards nothing disappears. Your played matches and the tournaments you entered before stay in your own overview, with the results beside them.

Questions players ask

The things people want settled before they press enter. If your question is about one particular tournament, the organising club answers it; their contact details are on the tournament page. They decide the rules, the prices, the venue and the playing schedule.

Your account

What does an account cost?+

Nothing. A PlayTour account is free for players and there is no subscription. You pay the entry fee of the tournament you enter, and PlayTour charges nothing on top of it.

Do I need a new one at every club?+

No. The same account works for every tournament on PlayTour, whichever sports club is running it. Your details are already there, so your second entry is quicker than your first.

Where do I find my past tournaments?+

In your own overview. Your entries and your played matches are kept, with the results. Useful when you want to know which year you actually won that group.

Searching and choosing

How do I find a tournament near me?+

Put your town into the filter on the events list. You can filter by sport and by a period as well, so you only see what fits your diary.

How long can I enter for?+

Every event shows its closing date. If an event fills up sooner, it closes sooner. So do not leave it to the last day, because full is full.

Can I follow a tournament for next year?+

Add it to your favourites. You will hear about it as soon as the next edition opens, instead of hearing about it afterwards in the clubhouse.

Entering together

How do I add my doubles partner?+

Choose the doubles event and invite them. They get an invitation link, confirm themselves and fill in their own details. You do not have to chase anybody.

And a whole team, a crew or a relay squad?+

The same, with more people. Invite everybody individually, or send one join code they use to add themselves. The code is the easy one to drop into a group chat.

My teammate has no PlayTour account yet+

They do not need one in advance. They create a free account while accepting the invitation, and from then on they are part of your entry.

Paying

What exactly am I paying?+

Only the entry fee the organising club sets for that event. PlayTour charges nothing on it, so what the tournament page shows is what you pay — once paying online is live as well.

When is our entry complete?+

Once everybody has confirmed and the entry fee has been settled. Until then the entry is pending, and the organisers see that exactly as you do.

I cannot make it after all. Do I get my money back?+

That is the organising club to decide, under the terms shown with the entry and agreed to when you enter. While paying online is not live yet, the club arranges any refund itself.

If you cannot make it

I cannot play at every time of day. Can I say so?+

Say so before the draw. Most tournaments ask when you are unavailable as you enter, and the scheduler works around it. After the draw a match can still be moved, but that is the organisers to decide.

How do I withdraw?+

From your own overview, on the entry itself. The organisers are told automatically, so a place does not sit empty that somebody else wanted.

Can I pass my place to somebody else?+

If the organising club allows it, yes. A transfer goes through them, so the entry list, the draw and the payment all stay in step.

At the tournament

Where do I see when I play?+

In your own overview, as soon as the organisers have made the draw and published the playing schedule. Every match shows the time, the court and your opponent.

The playing schedule has changed. How do I find out?+

By email, and by a notification on your phone if you have them switched on. Your overview always shows the current time, so that is the one to go by.

Can I follow the standings while I am there?+

Yes. Scores go in at the court, so the group table and the rest of the draw are right while matches are still being played.
