What can we help you with?

Below are the questions that come in most, grouped by subject, with their answers: signing in, entering, paying, your playing schedule and the results. If yours is not there, ask it through the contact form. We add it afterwards, so the next person simply finds it here.

How to reach us

PlayTour is made by a small team. There is no live chat and no telephone number, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Here is what there is, and it does get you to a person.

The contact form

Use the form on the contact page for anything to do with the platform itself: signing in, your account, a plan, an invoice, or something that is not doing what it should. The reply comes by email, to the address you give.

  • We read everything and answer it ourselves
  • In a busy tournament week it takes a little longer
  • The more you give us, the less we have to ask back

The organising club

If your question is about one tournament, contact the sports club running it; you are usually done faster there. The club sets the categories, the entry fee, the playing times and the terms, and only they can change your entry or move a match.

  • Contact details are on the tournament page
  • For withdrawing, refunds and playing times
  • And for the venue and the rules
  • And if anything about your entry has to change

The answers below

These are the questions that come in most often, with exactly the answer we would otherwise have emailed. Nothing to wait for, and it is here on a Sunday evening too.

  • Grouped by subject
  • Readable at any hour
  • Grows with whatever comes in

Account and signing in

I have forgotten my password+

On the sign-in screen choose "forgotten password" and enter your email address. You will get a link to choose a new one. It is valid briefly, so ask for it again if you do not get to it straight away.

I am not getting any email from PlayTour+

Check your spam folder first and search for playtour.nl. If it is not there, check that the email address in your profile is right: a typo while signing up is by far the most common cause. If it all looks correct and nothing arrives, let us know through the contact form and fill in the address you are expecting mail on.

Can I change my email address or my details?+

Yes, in your profile. Your entries, your playing schedule and your history stay attached to the same account, so nothing is lost.

Do I need an account just to look around?+

No. Searching, filtering and reading a tournament page work without one. You need an account to enter, so that your entries and your schedule belong to you.

I want my account deleted+

Let us know through the contact form and we will arrange it. Data a club needs for its own records of a tournament you played in may stay with them.

Entering

How do I enter?+

Find the tournament, pick the category that suits you and say who is playing. Then confirm the entry. The Help with entering page walks through those steps in full, including doubles and teams.

My entry says "pending"+

Either the payment has not completed or a teammate still has to confirm. Your entry says which of the two. Once it is settled the status moves to confirmed by itself and you are told.

The category is full+

If the organisers use a waiting list you can join it and you move up as soon as somebody withdraws. If there is no waiting list the category is genuinely closed, and you can ask the club whether anything is still possible.

Can I still enter after the closing date?+

Not through the website: the category closes on its closing date, because the draw follows after it. The organising club can sometimes still arrange something, especially if there is room. Ask them directly.

How do I get my doubles partner onto the entry?+

You enter their email address on the doubles category. They get an invitation, confirm themselves and create a free account while doing so if they do not have one. Until they confirm, your entry is pending.

Paying

What does it cost to take part?+

A participant account is free. The organising club sets the entry fee itself, per category, and it is shown beside the category on the tournament page. PlayTour charges nothing on it, so you pay exactly the amount the club published — once collecting entry fees online is live as well.

My payment failed+

Then your entry stays pending and your place is not secured yet. You can start the payment again from your own overview, on the entry. If it still fails, let us know through the contact form, with the tournament and the category.

I have paid but my entry is still not confirmed+

A payment is sometimes a few minutes on its way. If it still says so after an hour, let us know through the contact form, with the tournament, the category and the email address you entered with, and we will look it up for you.

Which payment methods are there?+

Paying online is coming soon. Until then the organising club decides how you settle the entry fee, and says so with the entry.

I cannot make it after all. Do I get my money back?+

The organising club decides that, not PlayTour. Many clubs refund up to the closing date and not after it. Their terms are attached to the entry, and you agree to them as you enter. While paying online is not live yet, the club arranges the refund itself.

Your schedule

When do I find out when I play?+

As soon as the organisers have made the draw and published the playing schedule, usually shortly after entries close. You are notified, and your matches appear in your own overview.

Where do I find my court and my opponent?+

In your own overview, on the match. Each match shows the time, the court or pitch and who you are playing. That overview always shows the current version, so it is the one to go by.

The schedule has changed. How do I find out?+

You are emailed, and get a notification on your phone if you have those switched on. The change appears in your overview straight away.

I cannot play at a certain time+

Say so before the draw. Many tournaments ask when you are unavailable as you enter, and the planner takes it into account. After the draw a match can still be moved, but that is up to the organisers.

How much time is there between my matches?+

The organisers set a rest period per category between two matches of the same competitor, and the planner keeps to it. If a tournament runs in more than one hall that rest is usually set more generously, because the planner does not count travel time.

Scores and results

Who enters the scores?+

It varies by tournament: sometimes the referees, sometimes the players themselves at the court. An entered score shows up in the standings and the playing schedule immediately.

There is a wrong score+

Tell the tournament desk. They can put it right, and the standings and the progression adjust themselves afterwards. A correction stays visible in the log, so what changed can be traced later.

How is my sport counted?+

The organisers choose that per category, to suit the sport: points, sets and games, counting down, time, distance, judges’ marks, placing, or against par. The category shows which way of counting is used.

How do I know whether I have gone through?+

As soon as the results of your pool or your round are in, the standings adjust and the progression follows. Your next match appears in your own overview once it is known when and who you are playing.

Where do I find the result afterwards?+

On the tournament’s page, including after it has finished. In the events list, tick "also show past events" to find it again.

Organising yourself

We want to put a tournament on PlayTour. Where do we start?+

Create a free account, create your club and set up your first tournament. After that you manage the entries, the draw, the playing schedule and the results in one place. The Help with organising page walks through the whole order, from the categories to the final standings.

What does it cost a club?+

There is a free plan with three tournaments at once and fifty participants per tournament, and paid plans per year, excluding VAT. You pay per club rather than per tournament or per player. The pricing page says what each plan includes.

Can we run a private tournament?+

Yes. A tournament is either public, and then it appears in the search results on playtour.nl, or unlisted, and then it is reached by its link or its eight-character invitation code. Everything else works the same.

Does everybody taking part need an account?+

Anybody entering themselves does, and that account is free. If you type somebody in from a paper form they join your list as a guest and play as normal. They simply cannot sign in, and announcements do not reach them.

Is our sport supported?+

Probably. If it is not there, tell us. We add it, usually within a few days, because a tournament is the same thing underneath everywhere: entrants, a format and a way of counting.

Is your answer not here?

Then just ask us. Include which tournament it is about and the email address you entered with, so we can look straight away. Questions that come in more than once get added above, so you are helping the next person too.
